Savse smoothies Review: Just like homemade juices, crammed Full of Goodness!

Good morning on this first Tuesday of October! Fall is here and cold winds are coming back with the seasonal flus and other unpleasantness. It is the prefect time to boost your immune system the best you can DO to face all these changes. One of the best thing to do is to change the food you eat. You ARE what you EAT. Simple statement but real. Diet is key to welfare. I have not always been the best at following diets but being obliged for baby well-being and to continue my breastfeeding journey, I am strictly following my DAIRY FREE Paleo/Keto diet and I am managing it! WAW! I cannot believe it myself. Well, for the first time in my life, I am enjoying a diet. I am rediscovering the taste of simple and raw fruits and vegetables. Any of you following me on Instagram, might have noticed that I love smoothies. Why? I am B-U-S-Y. From the very first moment I open my eyes in the morning till this last bit when I close them to …

“My Little Piccolo” new tastes: organic healthy food for out and about

Today, let’s talk again about My Little Piccolo. Few months ago, I shared with you my review about this organic baby food range that has a particular Mediterranean taste. My Little Piccolo has launched very recently four new tastes to their Stage One range. We were delighted to be asked to test and review the new range as My Little Piccolo is a favourite in our home: in fact the only one we use for the moment. I normally do my own purees by using my Beaba Baby cooker  and stocking them in reusable pouches. But with three little ones to care for, I do not always have the time to prepare some, so we now stock always some My Little Piccolo goodness in our cupboard for those days when I am too lazy to cook/prepare a new batch. Mummy’s life ! When I moved to the UK back in 2010, I remember I was looking for apple “puree” – compote de pommes in french – to bake a french apple tart. I now know that it is called …

Coping with a CMP and Nut free Diet with Cocofina, The Coconut Expert Products Range

Since I gave birth in middle of July, I am working hard on my diet… Before I got pregnant I was following a keto diet: a real one with 80-90% lipids, 5% carbs and 5 % proteins. Then for baby, I followed a “normal” diet. Now I am trying to get back to my previous diet without compromising my breastfeeding journey – Breast Milk supply . I will start a mixed paleo and keto diet with approximately 70 % fat, 15 % proteins and 15 % carbs. Plus I need to have a diet free from MCP {Milk Cow Proteins} , peanuts and all tree nuts sue to baby allergies. When I realised all the things I need to cut off from my diet, I was first very terrified because last time, when I was on a ketogenic mode, I was mainly eating cheese, whole milk, and nuts butters! How would I get what I need and enjoy my food? Well, I have also 30kgs to loose but how not to get frustrated? This is …

Breastfeeding: Worries about milk supply and lactation cookies by Boobbix

“I think you do not have enough milk”  ……”You should top up your baby with some formula, she seems so hungry” Who has never heard these comforting sentences during their breastfeeding journey? When I gave birth to my first baby, when we were at the hospital and my breastfed baby was unsettled, instead of helping me with breastfeeding, I have been proposed several times to give some formula to my baby but I did not. I knew my milk supply was not the issue, it was something else.   From her first day in this world until she was three months old, because she was so unsettled and always asking for breastfeeding, I kept hearing those silly sentences! The truth was breastfeeding her was the only comfort she could seek to ease her pain, unfortunately it was causing her more distress and it was an infernal circle because the truth was somewhere else. Well, indeed it was… just those silly allergies diagnosed too late. My milk was the trigger full of allergens. For new baby, …

Healthy Vegan and Paleo Snacks for a starving Bump! {Forest Primal Snack Box Review}

Recently I started to think of my “after birth” Diet Plan. Why? Here are some pregnancy updates: 36 weeks pregnant now {4 more weeks to go! Just keep going…} 20 Kgs + on the scale so far {I know frightening but this is my third pregnancy and getting used to it – no choice really} As you can see I put on some weight but this is how my body reacts to pregnancy. I had the same things for my previous Babas and it has been hard to understand. No more trying to understand, just taking action. After having Baba1, I completely changed my way to view food and Diet. I am now following  a paleo and Keto diet. During this pregnancy, I tried to keep going and still going in fact with my paleo vegan life but had to drop off a bit with the keto one. Coping with the pregnancy cravings is not the easiest thing to do: it is like a constant battle with your stomach and a fight with your dreamy mind! And even …

World Breastfeeding Week 2016: My experience and trials {from allergies to reflux}

This week is the World Breastfeeding Week. “National Breastfeeding Celebration Week run from 18th – 27th June 2016.  This extended week is an opportunity for mothers, breastfeeding supporters and health professionals to come together and share what works well to support breastfeeding in local communities. The week incorporates two weekends and concludes on Monday 27th June.  At a national level the aim is to raise awareness of the health and wellbeing benefits of breastfeeding for mothers, their infants and the long term public health for everyone. This year National Breastfeeding Celebration Week is concentrating on how ‘everyone in local communities can support mothers to breastfeed, whenever and wherever they are’. The week provides a fantastic opportunity to showcase all the good work that is going on around England, to share ideas, inspire others and promote the support available to women and their families.” {Unicef.co.uk} It was really important for me to talk about it and to share my own experience with you. Not that I am exceptional, no, the total opposite, but to show that sometimes, …

Taste of the Med for our Little ones , New Organic Baby Food Brand “Piccolo”!

The first time we had to introduce solids in one of our Baba’s little life was 5 years ago. I can tell you that I did not know how much it will be SO hard to find some ready made baby food that will meet our needs! Never I will have thought that eggs and other products will always be in the ingredients list! NEVER, really. Why to be worried by eggs? Baba1 has been diagnosed with Cow Milk protein, Eggs, oats and soya allergies when she was 3 months old. Since that moment, we started to read all the ingredients lists madly and annoyingly. Annoyingly as we have discovered that some ingredients are a bit everywhere with no reason. Processed food is really strange and manufacturers are playing a strange game here. Do you remember the beginning of our green journey? I forgot this step, this is our real STEP 2: no more processed food or ready made meals {sometimes, we do, to please me when I got tired of cooking but shhhhh… 🙂 let’s keep the …
